The beautifully embroidered historical Turkish tents, resting in the collection of the Wawel Museum comprise the biggest assemblage of this kind not only in Poland, but in Europe. They have come a long and turbulent way, before they were renovated and exhibited at the historical seat of Polish kings.
The item exhibited currently at Wawel castle is a 17th century tent, seized after King Jan III Sobieski defeated the Turkish army at Vienna siege on September 12th 1683, and demonstrates the craft of Turkish artisans, as well as a great moment for Polish history.
