Another welcome arrival in one of our favourite parts of town - the ever-evolving Karmelicka street. Drop in for some oven-baked pizza in a smooth and sultry setting. This is the kind of place that would be equally good for either a date or a casual evening with a bunch of friends. Besides the pizza and pasta, you can also take your pick from some meat and fishes dishes, as well as a range of salads. Pretty soon Karmelicka will be as ... as it was in the 1930's.

Just had an excellent lunch here - aubergine starter, pizza with parma ham and a salad. With drinks, good value at 66pln for 2, about 6 gbp per person
Very good food and friendly service. Seemed to be very popular, so might be worth booking a table in advance if coming at busy times like weekends. The pizza with parma ham was the best!
Don't go there if you are black , we had booked a table a week early For two people through an email. When we turned up they moved us to the very back at a table for 4 non reserved next to the toilet. Waiter most unfriendly and could not wait to get rid of us
Try the pizza with parma ham - an excellent choice. Also the spaghetti carbonara is delicious. Always a good choice to eat in central Krakow. They also do quite a good breakfast as well...
Disappointingly small portions and very slow service (we waited exactly 40 minutes for the meal to arrive and there was not a huge crowd by any means). The food itself was very good indeed, but the portion was suitable for a starter and not a main course. It's now an hour later and I am already hungry. They really need to stop skimping in this way, as the dishes are not cheap. We paid 66 PLN for two main courses and soft drinks.
A brilliant restaurant - super, fresh food, helpful staff, reasonable prices, decent portions. What more do I need to add?
Wonderful place. A true Italian atmosphere, ideal for a romantic dinner :) I haven't eaten better pizza anywhere else in Cracow! Higly recommend.
But, like others said - it's hard to get a table, so remember about booking!
Very delicious italian style pizza! A nice place for lunch or an evening with friends. Friendly interior and staff. Awesome!
The best pizza in Old Town! But it's good to remember about booking a table - especially during the weekends.
Ate here for three out of four nights whilst staying in Kracow in March. The food, atmosphere and service were brilliant. It was so busy every evening, even during the week, that on the Thursday night we had to book earlier in the day for a table. Each time we were the only English in the restaurant but all the waitresses spoke perfect English and the service was great. The food was excellent and so reasonable and would recommend it to anyone who loves huge delicious pizzas and pasta dishes
I went here on the weekend just past. There are 2 parts of the restaurant - the cafe part and the fancier restaurant part also with outdoor but covered seating in the courtyard. The seem to be a suspiciously high number of 10/10s here, which are probably sponsored - my rating includes this to redress the balance. The food is average and the service is what you'd expect from a 1950s state controlled soviet bloc restaurant run by Stalin - no manners or charm. You'd imagine some of the people who work here would be better suited to pulling heads off chicken in an abattoir.
We went here in October 2009 and I have to say it was great value. A nice little italian just on Karmelika street. The tomato soup was fantastic and the pizza was huge and tasty. Great value two course meal each and a couple of drinks for about £12 in total. You really cannot go wrong in Krakow.
I live in Krakow and have been to Mamma Mia several times. I love the food there, but as in the rest of the city the customer service and manners is awful. Polish people really suck at it!!
went on sunday and it was absolutely heaving...many customers were being sent away because no tables free Great pizzas and very friendly service.perfect for kids
Used to go to this place all the time as is only 5 minutes walk. The food used to be quite good but has become consistently worse and worse but what really brings it down is the service, as pointed out by a number of reviews already listed. It is very close to the Soprano, where the food is much better and there is service with a smile rather than a grimace.
Being a resident of Krakow for several years, I have endured the poor service every time someone else has suggested eating at Mamma Mia. Lees review below ...the welcome the waitress gave me was about as warm as a penguin with hypothermia is about right. I turned up for a late lunch at 3pm in August and needed a table outside because Id forgotten to bring the lock for my bicycle and needed to keep a close eye on it. We asked the waitress, Kamila Sgozara, to give us the next table that came free, and patiently waited, very visibly, to one side. 25 minutes later we were still waiting and I saw an outside table for 2 be given to one person on their own. We went up to ask Kamila the waitress, and she told us the person who was sitting there before knew the lady and gave the table to her. This turned out be a bare faced lie. No offer was made to ask the person to wait for the next table, and no apology was offered. An example of appalling service, appalling waitressing and bad manners. Its important for tourists visiting Krakow to vote with their feet in establishments that offer the very worst service, in a city where good restaurant service is very rare.
The pizzas were so authentic that I thought that the owners/chef must be Italian. Was surprised to find out that that's not the case. Chocolate cake also excellent. If only the restaurants that served Polish food cooked this well...!
Was tipped off about this one and the pizzas lived up the expectations. Clearly popular. Polite service, and above all, delicious food. Not horribly expensive.
Top restaurant highly recommend a visit but make sure you head down the alley to the courtyard better atmosphere than the cafe!
Visited this place after reading the excellent reviews on this website. When/if you go there is an inside restaurant to the left and an alley on the right leading to a courtyard dining area. The courtyard was full when i went so opted for the inside restaurant and to be frank i wish i hadn't bothered. The service was ok but the welcome the waitress gave me was about as warm as a penguin with hypothermia. The starters took 20 minutes and they were only Bruschetta!! The main courses were ok but not excellent. maybe they were having an off day but i wouldn't recommend it.
Hadn't noticed this one on the website before going, but it was GREAT! We ate there twice on a 3 night stay. Loved the food, the servings, the friendly service, the decor/setting. Very pleased to find it :o)
this restaurant is the JOB!! i ate here twice on a 3 day visit too. the pizza's are soo good and the staff were really friendly. i'd go back to krakow just for this restaurant alone!! if u go here try the mushrooms for starters, they're AMAZING!!
Probably the best Quattro Formaggi Pizza ever, the service was also fab...ate at the place twice on a 3 day visit as it was sooo good !
Brilliant and faultless at this price. Friendly service and awesome food, best Calzone I've ever had (and I've had a few!!)!!!
I came to Poland on a trip with my college! We all ate here & thought it was extra yummyy!! The pizza was mouthwatering!
yum yum!
gooooooooooo!
Is one of the best italian restaurants in town the food is great and the service is also excelent, very difficult to find a good place with reasonable prices in Krakow I totally recomend this one!
I ate at this restaurant and i can say that it was probably the best meal i had in Krakow. Very reasonably prices. About 30 Zt (£6) for the most expensive pizza. Would recommend.
I love this restaurant. I tasted several Italian restaurant in Krakow and I bet this one is the best. The price is good and the quality is very good.
I just forgot to change the rating in my previous review. I definitively give this place a 10! but they only go up to 5 shoot!
Wow is small of a word. My complements to the owner, for this fine establishment. I have visited Poland several times, and I am afraid of ordering foreign dishes there, but I must say this place is as close to Italian as they get. Thank you for feeding me so well. Also complements to the English speaking staff. Smacznego!
really good food and nice interiors, different from other "italian" places in krk- no cheesy landscapes on the walls :-)
Excellant Oven baked pizza's. Staff really nice and friendly visited for Lunch and were so impressed we went back a few days later for a meal. Both visits were first class.
best pizza in town by far, 1 of only 3 places I'll get pizza in Krakow.....skip the junk on the Rynek and go here for thin, crispy brick oven pizza
