As the only floating flower market in the world, Amsterdams Bloemenmarkt is the most well-known place in the world for buying the beloved Dutch tulips. Situated on house boats on the Singel canal (between Koningsplein and Muntplein), the market stalls sell fresh cut flowers, bulbs, seeds, and even Christmas trees in December. However, make sure you have a custom cleared stamp on your purchase if you wish to take your bulbs and seeds home across the border. A the Bloemenmarkt, youll also find plenty of souvenirs to browse in the area, including the hallmark Dutch painted wooden shoes. Open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5:30pm, and on Sundays from 11am to 5:30pm.
