Editor's review
American architect Jim Thompson volunteered for the US Army in the early 1940s and wound up spending a great deal of time in the Far East and settling in Thailand. His penchant for design and eye for quality, particularly of fine silks, led him to become one of the best known foreigners entrepreneurs in the country. Today, visitors can spend time at his former home, which is said to be quite close to its original quality since his disappearance in 1967. The house site includes a museum and art center; don’t miss the gift shop with a fine selection of textiles.
