Soi 11’s favorite dive bar dates back to 1982, when two brothers opened a counter where they sold beer for 20 THB. Today the still-small counter attracts a not-so-small crowd, which seems to overflow onto the street most weekend evenings and have a steady flow of expat drinkers. Cheap Charlie’s is a great place to start drinking early, opening at 4:30 p.m., though it closes at 1 a.m. so late night drinkers must plan accordingly.
