While it's not the classiest of nightlife destinations, it is a Bangkok landmark, and a site worth seeing for many who visit. Similar to other Red Light districts such as Patpong and Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy is home to 40+ bars in condensed into a small area, which are concentrated red light establishments. To generalize, the clientele tends to be foreign men, who are known for flocking to Bangkok for its easily accessible sex industry workers and escorts. To be fair, some tourists also come to people-watch and observe - it is certainly a unique place to observe. Be extra careful with your belongings in these area, and if you do choose to partake in the activities, practice safe sex.
