Thailand's capital lives up to its reputation when it comes to flavor. Thai obviously dominates Bangkok's palette, but it's not hard to come by very delicious flavors from a variety of Asian countries, as well as the rest of the world. Bangkokians love their sweets, so sugar is always integrated into meals - locals even dump spoonfuls of sugar in their soup, which comes as a surprise to many foreigners. High-end dining is accessible, but street food is also incredibly delicious and known to be among the cleanest and safest in Southeast Asia. Take advantage of trying new flavors, and be prepared to point at what you want, get something totally different, and still be blissfully satisfied.
