Editor's review
This was the stadium where the athlete Jesse Owens shot to fame in 1936, winning four Olympic gold medals and seriously irritating Hitler.
Now, it's had a face lift, and hosts a variety of events. It's a regular football stadium, home to Hertha Berlin, so if you plan ahead and fancy that kind of thing, you might be able to catch a match during the season. The stadium has also welcomed musical acts and guest speakers since its revamp.
The stadium is open to the public for guided and non-guided tours, but at the time of writing the visitor centre was closed for reconstruction (from April 2011).
