England is represented by a maze, France by a labyrinth. Whether or not this reflects the personal convictions of the landscape architects behind the Gardens of the World is anyone's guess, but the fact that they are an exceptionally gifted group of people is beyond dispute.
The designers here in Berlin's Marzahn district have recreated the greatest horticultural artistry in the world, from the gardens of renaissance Italy to those of China, Bali, Japan, Korea and more.
There are regular cultural events in each of the gardens, and admission is free if you are willing to brave the cold between November and February.
