Editor's review
One of the finest collections of European art from the 13th to the 18th centuries, anywhere in the world, is displayed at the Gemaldegalerie on the outskirts of Berlin's Tiergarten.
Botticelli, Dürer, Rembrandt, Rubens and Titian, all are represented at the spot known affectionately as 'the picture gallery'. In fact, you will not find more Rembrandts together in one place.
The gallery is included as one of the sites that can be visited with a Berlin visitors' pass, and it's just as well as it is a place that no art lover would want to miss. It might not quite rival St Petersburg's Hermitage musuem, but all the same be prepared to be overwhelmed by the sheer number and quality of works on display.
