Editor's review
The turn of the twentieth century brought about many changes across the arts, and the Brücke museum explores just one strand of this. Its focus is the work of the Brücke group of artists, which was formed in 1905 by
Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Fritz Bleyl, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Erich Heckel. The group grew, and gained a reputation for developing a new German Expressionism in painting.
Visitors can explore this museum solo, or with the help of a guide. Tours are available subject to advance booking, with information available in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
