Editor's review
Berlin's fire brigade is the oldest in Germany, and has been operating since the mid-nineteenth century.
In that time, there have been a lot of changes, ranging from vehicles to strategies, equipment to communication - and these are presented at the Feuerwehrwehrmuseum in Tegel.
The collection of vehicles at the museum includes the brigade's first helicopter, and there are interactive displays too. Visitors can see just what happened when the first fire brigade swung into action, and even take the same health test to see if they could have made the cut in the 19th century.
