As Christmas draws nearer, Berlin's shops open their doors after dark for the Long Night of Shopping, which allows visitors to get the dreaded christmas shopping burden of their shoulders early.

Based on the success of previous years, 600,000 shopaholics are expected to indulge this year and the open doors of stores up until midnight aren't the only drawcards. There will also be restaurants, bars and pubs nearby to add to the festivities and take your mind of the amount of money that has left your pocket thanks to a long night of shopping.

The event takes place and around Kurfurstendamm- by S-Bahn or U-Bahn: U2, U9 and S5, S7, S75 and S9 to Zoologischer Garten station or U1, U15 to Wittenbergplatz, Kurf?rstendamm or Uhlandstrasse (check out the site map on the more info link).
