Puccini's classic opera was first performed on 1st February, 1893 in Torino. Taking it's inspiration from the Abbe Prevost's novel of the same name, Manon Lescaut follows the fortunes of the beautiful - but avaricious - Manon, and her unfortunate lover Des Grieux. The Opera is performed in Italian.
