With its super shopping opportunities and legendary nightlife, Berlin makes a great place to spend the build up to Christmas, or even the day itself. Of course many tourists will want to hunt down the seasonal Christmas Markets for which Germany is famous. Markets take place at Schlossplatz and Gendarmenmarkt in Mitte, and Breitscheidplatz in Charlottenburg. Gingerbread, hot chestnuts and grilled sausages are all part of the fun!
