Sea shanties are optional when checking in to the Odyssee Globetrotter, though the theme of the hostel is definitely one of exploration and ocean-going adventure.

Thankfully the crew of this particular vessel are dab hands at splicing mainbraces or whatever the land-bound equivalent may be, and can ensure a smooth voyage for the duration of your stay.

The Odyssee has piles of freebies, such as lockers, bed linen, hot showers, kitchen facilities, maps, wi-fi, luggage storage, TV and a book exchange, and boasts enough showers and toilets to cater for everyone, even during the morning rush. Look out for the all you can eat breakfast, which although it costs an extra three euro a day, really is a great way to fuel up before embarking on a tour of the city.
