City 54 tries very hard not to disappoint. On the one hand, Berlin is a city that attracts thousands of backpackers from around the world. So they've a hostel section just for them. On the other, Germany's capital is also a centre of European business, so City 54 has a hotel to cater for the corporate traveler.

And either independent or business travelers looking to stay in Berlin for longer than a few days can opt for the comfort of the City 54 apartments.

To be honest, the hostel side of the operation is a cut above - offering TV, wi-fi and a bathroom in each room. The hotel offers exactly the kind of facility and service that the business traveler might expect at a price that won't give the expenses department a heart attack. And, the apartment combines the best of hotel living, but with all the independence of self-catering.
