Berlin Mourns Passing of Beloved Knut
The Berlin Zoo?s most famous resident, polar bear Knut, has died from what neurologists have described as an epileptic fit. The four year old bear was seen to have suddenly collapsed within its zoo enclosure on 19 March.
Knut won the hearts of both Berliners and international fans alike when zookeepers hand-reared the bear after he was rejected by his mother. At the moment the zoo is considering its options for commemorating the life of the lovable bear. One option being currently considered is to stuff Knut and add him to the many other stuffed animals within Natural History Museum?s exhibition space.
