Berlin Film Festival to Honour Meryl Streep
The illustrious Berlin Film Festival Berlinale, which takes place every year in February, has announced that its honorary Golden Bear award will go to American actress Meryl Streep. After a career which included Out of Africa, Sophie's Choice, and Julie & Julia in its past, Streep most recently portrayed the UK's former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the biopic The Iron Lady.
It will be at the screening of this film that the award is set to be presented. Movie goers will also have a chance to see her other works at the festival, which has dedicated a "Homage" section to her works.
Since the start of her career, Meryl Streep has appeared in over 40 films and has won two Academy Awards.
