Editor's review
Set in a former 1930s dance hall and cinema, Quasimodo has all the glitz and romance of the swinging Berlin of years gone by.
The patio outside the venue's café is the perfect place to kick back and watch the modern city rush by as you dream of Christopher Isherwood and slender cigarette holders, while the basement jazz club offers just the kind of low-lit, breathy intimacy that made Berlin's nightlife a must-have experience for the bohemian set long before Monaco or Ibiza had made it onto the map.
With a capacity of 350, it's not the largest club in the city, but certainly one of the most cosy. It's the kind of place where your drinks come to you via waiting staff, and international acts turn up on the spur of the moment to play any kind of gig from classical to blues, jazz to rock, and everything in between.
