Coffee, conversation, cake and a laissez faire attitude to opening hours are hallmarks of St Gaudy cafe in fashionable Prenzlauer.
As one of Berlin's more laid back venues, it's clear that the owners of St Gaudy have decided to keep it simple. As far as the menu goes, it's all about regular coffee shop fare, with great vegetarian options.
There is usually something going on in the way of entertainment, and this largely governs the opening hours as the day draws on. Best to check the website first, to avoid turning up post-7pm and being disappointed.
St Gaudy also has a back room - aptly called The Room BHind, which can be booked for parties, conferences, or whatever else takes your fancy.
