It's a fair bet that the owners of Funk Taxi aren't etymologists or they probably wouldn't have chosen a name that literally means 'Smell' Taxi. Thankfully for them it seems that none of their customers are etymologists either - enabling Funk Taxi to become one of the biggest and best in Germany! Simply call 26-10-26 at any hour of the day or night and wait for one of their two hundred and twenty vehicles to come running. Funk Taxi also prides itself on its friendly drivers so a free lesson on the history of anything from Bratwurst to the Berlin Wall is almost certain to be included in the price of your ride.

Unfortunately ended up in a Funk Taxi for a short destination trip - at destination it told me it did not accept card as machine was broken, but luckily the machine revived as soon as i agreed to pay more. THIEFS
the taxi was on time, but he was driving very fast for my taste and he choose a road that was not the fastest one
If the author of this article spoke any German or bothered to look up the word, s/he would have known that the word FUNK means RADIO in English.

No problems at all when I used them (several times) last week. In fact, I've never really had problems with any taxis in Germany. No-one has tried to scam me.
