Get Your Skates On

It's going to be rollerblading and skating mania this summer in Bratislava as the city proudly hosts its fifth Inline event.

Inline is a great opportunity for anyone - beginner or experienced - to whizz along the city's streets, make some new mates and keep fit, all at the same time. There are 10 different routes that you can follow which will have experienced guides leading the way including zigzagging across the old city, city centre and Petrzalka. If you don't have your own skates you can hire a pair and for added cushioning knee and hand pads are available to be donned.

After you've completed one of the routes (referred to as 'rides' by the organizers), you can collect a stamp on a special in-line card. Once you've zapped your way through three or more, pop it into the special draw box to be in with a chance of winning roller skates, gift certificates and other goodies.

In-line events run throughout July and August and are held every Friday at Aupark. There's no need to pre-register - you just turn up. The rides are free to take part in and In-line is open to absolutely anyone - young, old, families and couples.
