Reviews of Romanian Restaurants in Bucharest
ps. ranked max ***
just to add to the editor's review for caru' cu bere: - crowded (unexpectedly, given the above comments, but i guess they have the tourist market cornered) - high prices - couple of dancers acting-up with lots of fuss but poor quality - smoke out of control (even outside is bigtime-a-smokey) - slow to cook - did i mention expansive for the provided goods ? (poor price/quality ratio) i would recommend walking around if you have to check it out but almost any brewery around is better from food/beer quality perspective
Definitely the best place to eat in Bucharest. It is an amazing experience but consider booking a table in advance as it is a very crowded place.
I thought that it had the most amazing decor of anywhere I have ever been before and I'd like to think that I have done a bit of travelling over the years, good beers, great food, really good prices and the local traditional entertainment was delightful. I'd give it a 10/10 for value, ambience and service
A beautiful old room, a staff dancing dutifully to ear-splitting music, shouted conversation to cope, decent but not memorably good food, and you'd better not be in a hurry. For drinks, appetizers, entree and dessert, plan to spend the entire evening, a lot of it waiting for something to arrive at the table.
Top place, amazing decor, good beers, great food, good prices

I enjoyed the food. As other reviewers have stated it is an impressive building.
Interesting choice of eatery. May have to pop in on the way out.
Traipsed in and had a good brew, then shot off to the next stop. No idea about the food.
I always take visitors to Caru cu Bere, because it a great place to have a beer in a pleasant atmosphere and incredible interior. For great food, just go to Gara Lipscani...
The entrance is actually on Selari, across from a big empty lot full of playing Roma children (what, that doesn't narrow it down?); open until 22:00...
very touristy, but very nice too and worth a visit. Prices are affordable and maybe not as high as you'd expect from a place with such an impressive ambiance. Food is typical Romanian and point taken that it is much better at many other places in the city
