Hamilton Whizzes to Win in Budapest

Lewis Hamilton was back on the podium No 1 spot after winning his first grand prix race of the year at the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest in July.

It was a nail-biting few days for the British No1 after he failed to take the initial lead on the first day of the race and was beaten by the Australian Mark Webber. After several collisions with Webber and Fernando Alonso, which at one point saw Hamilton career off course, his winning combination of skill, judgement and optimism saw him get back on track to clinch the title and trophy.

Speaking after his victory, he said: "Clearly we've made some serious improvements to the car and it's much better balanced. The car was fantastic, and when the team asked me, I looked after tyres. It's an incredible feeling to be back here after what feels like such a long time away, and such a struggle for me and the team," he continued. "I'm very, very proud of the guys; I see at the factory how hard they are pushing to win, they want it as much as I do, and they have never given up. It's fantastic to be back on the podium, and to win."

Second place went to Raikkonen and Webber came in at third.
