Daniel Craig billed for Budapest movie
It has been reported that Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are due to star in an intense drama about communist show trials in Budapest.
The man behind the film is Andy Vajna, the Budapest-born big shot who produced such blockbusters as the Rambo series, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Nixon and Die Hard With A Vengeance.
Vajna emigrated from Hungary during the bleak fifties, but he was hired earlier this month to resuscitate the country's flagging film industry.
Besides drawing up an action plan for rejigging Hungary's movie business, it seems Vajna will also be putting his personal touch on specific film projects.
Daniel Craig is tipped to be playing the man who executed Laszlo Rajk, the first victim of the notorious show trials which began in 1949.
Rachel Weisz, whose father George emigrated from Hungary in 1930s, is also billed as taking a role in the film.
No title has been announced yet for the drama, but it has been reported that Craig will be filming in Budapest in March.
