Budapest is a large city with a lot to offer in every direction. Rather than sustain sun poisoning wandering around the blistering boroughs until you're baked and bedridden (this is a firsthand account), why not rent a bike and ride in style? Budapest Bike gives you a groovy orange cycle, helmet and lock for as long as you want, be it six hours or six days. Prices actually start at 6 hours for 2000 HUF (about 7 Euro), so get an early start to get your money's worth. Various tours are also available, and they accept euros. The metro is so unromantic; get out and cover more ground without having to go under it.
