What's the Pride of Eindhoven?
Local newspaper Groot Eindhoven / d Weekkrant.nl has again launched the city election for the Pride of Eindhoven 2010 (Eindhovens Trots 2010). The Eindhoven Marathon, the Light Route, Tongelreep, Glow Festival and the enlightened A2 overpass have been elected Pride of Eindhoven in the past. Until November 1st you can nominate people, institutions, clubs or locations in the following categories:
- Light
- Technology
- Sport
- Culture
- Design
You can nominate your favorite by sending an e-mail with your nomination to: redactie.grooteindhoven@whm.wegener.nl. A jury will choose the winners per category and the public can again choose their final Pride of Eindhoven 2010 from those five. The final will be at December 10th in the Stadspaviljoen next to the Parktheatre. This will be a large event (free entry for everyone) with the final election and performances of several artists. Current nominations can be found at: www.grooteindhoven.nl/eindhovenstrots. Participate in this election and represent the voice of international Eindhoven!

Your nation has a secrecy law that probably prevents relatives discovering relatives. I have been trying for twelve years to learn of the whereabouts of a great Dutchman called Theo Mensink, BSc. A great mind and a great personality. He was an Engineer in transportation planning in the new town of Milton Keynes.(UK) He is a man I greatly admire. I have moved about a bit and ended up in Bretagne, France. Never-the- less, I have still tried to contact him. If anyone knows where he might be contacted, could you possibly e-mail me. His son was a small blonde person conceived after the adoption of a wonderful east indies daughter. I have spent so long being frustrated by these Dutch laws that I am beginning to develop a giant animosity towards the Dutch authorities. Please!!!!! Help, Help! Help! There were some friends - Karel van Heuvelen (probably mis-spelled (Heufelen) and ????? van der Sterra -( Sterrer) (also probably mis- spelled. His wife was Bena Blaze Mensink -I called her the amazing BB. She had a most ferocious kick with her clogs. (ouch) Maybe some-one remembers the black beans feasted on when everyone met together and the very old geneva????????????????????? Help people -- Help Regards Anthony Barden
