GLOW 2011 breaks visitor record

The yearly Eindhoven light art festival GLOW has been a huge success. Yesterday the organizers announced that 360.000 people have visited the event. Last year 250.000 visitors came to see the special light projects in our city. The strong increase is likely to be caused by the weather (last year's edition was very cold), but also many new people from outside Eindhoven came to see GLOW for the first time.

The high number of people walking the GLOW route also caused criticism in the city. On several spots there were safety issues in relation to the heavy 'traffic'. The organizers have announced that they will look into ways to manage this best for the next edition.
