Editor's review
Asmara Eindhoven opened in November 2017. This cosy restaurant in the city centre is run by an enthusiastic owner who has a background in both Ethiopia and Eritrea. She and her team serve delicious dishes from both countries and from other regions, centred around the 'injera', a light pancake based on sourdough and made with 'sorgum' or 'teff-flour'. Other dishes are eaten with the injera, so no cutlery is used. Everything is prepared fresh in the restaurant and it's possible to eat gluten free or vegetarian for example.
The restaurant, decorated with original items from the Eastafrican region, is named after Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, an authentic African city which modernistic architecture makes it a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Take the opportunity to experience African hospitality at our very own Asmara in Eindhoven and taste a bit of other cultures for a change; refreshing!
