9th Gdansk Carillon Festival
Fri 3rd
Aug
The Carillon Festival is a musical event unique to Gdansk, as its two most central instruments are a carillon in the Main Town Hall and a set of concert bells in St. Catherines Church. This festival is yet another example of a return to the citys ancient traditions. Most of the programme is filled with solo concerts. The repertoire is a review of magnificent works of carillon music literature, from Baroque compositions by Jan Sebastian Bach to 20th-century works by Artur Rubinstein.
