Theatre: The Tin Drum

In celebration of Gunter Grass' 80th birthday (Hmmm, they must have forgiven him his little confession, best leave it at that) Teatr Wybrzeze presents a special performance of The Tin Drum under the directorship of Adam Nalepa.

Annoying drum beater and shrieker Oskar, a child who resolves never to grow up, guides us through Gdansk in the turbulent prewar years and the rise of nazism, the fate of its inhabitants of many different cultures and races as well as the impending destruction of the city itself. A localised tale with universal connotations relating to the cruelty of history.

The performance will be simultaneously translated into German and English.
