Heineken Open'er Voted Best European Festival
Gdynia's epic summer music fest, Heineken Open'er, has scooped the top prize at the inaugural European Music Awards.
The Polish event, the biggest annual party on the Baltic, beat off competition from such stalwarts as Glastonbury.
The Open'er fest was first staged in 2002, in Warsaw, but the following year it moved to Gdynia. Guests have included many of the top names in rock and dance music, including The Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, The White Stripes, Faith No More and The Prodigy (the latter also winning Best Live Act at the award ceremony).
All most guests are yet to be confirmed, Kasabian and Pearl Jam will be starring at the 2010 edition, which kicks off on 1st July.
