This restaurant has won plenty of prizes over the years, as well as playing host to a string of distinguished guests, including former electrian and President of Poland Lech Walesa. It's all baroque mirrors, chandeliers and curiosity shop clutter, with gleaming silver platters laid out for the food itself. As you'd expect from a restaurant specializing classic Old Gdansk tucker, the emphasis is very much on our fishy friends, with dishes such as Baltic Salmon and Flounder high on the menu. However, meaty dishes are not abandoned if you're feeling in the mood for a traditional Polish cutlet or perhaps the classic Duck in the Gdansk style and delicious Country Goose.

Came across this very beautiful resturant by chance as we were walking past. It seemed a welcome change from the usual tourist food places -which we tend to avoid anyway..
Wonderful interior and a menu that has Polish dishes. The food was excellent- I had the duck dish and my partner had a steak.
Service was good but you do have to attract the waiters attention for extra drinks as they dont seem to like to disturb diners - a welcome change from being constantly asked if you want another drink, is the food ok etc etc. The waiters dress in traditional Polish attire with knickerbockers and waistcoats and some speak more english then others. My partner who is fluent in Polish said ours was very polite although our waiter did seem a bit awkward around me as my Polish is limited. However, other waiters seemed fluient. Price wise mid range and we thought very reasonable.
Although the restaurant does indeed have a beautiful interior, that's about all it has going for it. The food was at best mediocre. The fish was overcooked, dry and chewy. The potatoes had clearly been hanging around for a while and re heated. Service was extremly slow. If you are a local celebrity then service may be good. However we are not and as such we were treated with contempt. We were kept waiting an unreasonable amount of time between courses considering the restaurant only had one other table occupied. Our dinner plates were removed, when we had finished, without comment and 15 -20 minutes later, after many attempts to attract the waiters attention from the internet he was playing on, the cloakroom attendent eventualy sent him over to us. We descreetly voiced our dissatisfaction about the food and the lack of service to the waiter and requested to speak to the manager. However the waiter claimed he was the manager and made no attempt to apologise. In fact he just ignored us and gave us the bill for 150 pln. This is an overpriced, oversold restaurant. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. This was the most expensive restaurant with the worst food and the worst service in the whole of our weeks stay in Gdansk. Three restaurants to look out for are KOS and Chlopski Jadlo in Gdansk and Bar Pryzystan in Sopot.
Perfect location for an awesome restraunt. Away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, but close enough for a nice post-dinner walk through historic Gdansk. Unique atmosphere and excellent food!
