Editor's review
Rising atop Andrew's Descent and visible from almost anywhere in Podil, the cupolas of St. Andrew's Church make a majestic addition to the Kiev landscape. This baroque beauty was constructed courtesy of Italian architect Rastrelli in 1754 (the man responsible for the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg) and has remained in remarkably good nick every since. Venture inside to admire the looming red and gold altarpiece, which starkly contrasts with the pastel blue paintjob of the church's exterior.
