Editor's review
Kolobrzeg's lighthouse flashes have been a sign of safe haven for sailors since 1666. At first fire was kindled atop the tower of the port management building, and since 1866 the port got a proper lighthouse, shedding 5 sea mile-long white beams night after night under a watchful eye of a lamplighter. Starting from 1700's the lighthouse has been a part of a sea fort, and has been rebuilt several times. The massive brick building that we see today comes from 1909, with amendments done after WW II turmoil. Today the lighthouse is both a navigation facility and a historical monument for the fallen in the defence of the city. Inside, the operator organises a Pirate Adventure attraction for kids and hosts a minerals' museum.
