Businessmen bound for Katowice need look no further than the Teatr Slaski if they are searching for a cultured end to a ball-busting day. Founded in 1907, the theatre is the most distinguished centre of drama in the Silesian region, staging everything from classic Polish drama to versions of Irvine Welsh's 'Trainspotting'. Opera is also well catered for, with regular performances of the European classics throughout the year.
