While today it's mostly known for its more laid-back and arty bars and clubs, once Kazimierz was a bastion of Jewish culture. For about 700 years, until the Second World War devastated the population, the Jewish community flourished in Krakow, and its cultural and spiritual home was Kazimierz. A tour of Jewish Kazimierz will bring some of old Jewish Krakow back to life, through a visit to several synagogues and other historic places.

Anna our guide is simply charming. She was informative and helpful. My wife and I took advantage of her knowledge of the city and got plenty of great tips on restaurants. The tour is a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
It's a very good idea to start at the Galicia Jewish Museum - there you will get a good idea about the Jewish community in Cracow and further afield. They alos have lots of general information you can pick up.
