This cinema is something of a Cracow institution, winning several well-deserved awards in 2009, including Best Cinema from the Polish Film Institute, and Best Programme from Europa Cinemas. You'll find it tucked away on the second floor of the Pod Baranami palace - one of the grandest places in town in times gone by. So big is the palace that you can actually ride a bicycle around the top floor, a feat which the goodly Count (who reclaimed the building in 1991) has been known to try on occasion. The Kino Pod Baranami shows quality European and International films on three screens. This is not multiplex modernity - and all the more to be cherished for it. A great place to catch interesting and often brilliant films amongst an artsy Cracow crowd.

They have loads of fantastic film festivals & screenings here, a really great variety with lots of classics, obscure films, indie films & documentaries alongside the blockbusters.
They also have English Subtitles on a lot of Polish films (this is hard to find!) which is really great for people who want to experience Polish cinema (there are many incredible Polish films) as well as films from all over the world in different languages. Its lovely that they make so many films you might not have the opportunity to watch (and often even can not find online / find subtitles for) accessible.
Plus, it's a gorgeous old building. There's a lot of heart in this place and the films it shows, which unfortunately is being lost in most placesthese days.
In the city with numerous attractions this location with its unique historical renaissance structure, later redesigned, brings no comparison to other such places in Cracow and the whole Poland not only as a cinema but also as a monument of culture
I love this place - full of charm, shows interesting films, and so much better than the boring multiplexes everywhere. True art cinema!
Go here to rekindle your lost love for cinema. It really is a place for all lovers of the silver screen. The atmosphere, the people, the great selection of films - so much better than the soulless multiplexes that are taking over our world. It deserves all our support. A great Krakow institution.
Lovely cinema, equipped with cozy chairs. It's situated in the city centre, so it's also a great place to relax if you're a bit tired from sight-seeing or shopping. They show subtitled original versions of films, so you don't have to worry if you don't understand much more words than "dobrze" yet :)
I love this place - it's a true art cinema, with great character, showing some offbeat films. Right on the Market Square. Classic Cracow!
