Hanukkah

The Jewish festival of lights is celebrated at round about the same time as the Christian Christmas. It marks the time that the Maccabees rebelled against King Antiochus, and reclaimed the temple in Jerusalem.

Take a walk around Kazimierz, and you are sure to spot a Menorah or two. These are special candlesticks, which hold nine candles - one for each day of Hanukkah, and an extra one to see by!
