The sopranos (and the tenors)

Launch 2012 in classical style, with a trip to Krakow’s modern opera house which has a programme of old favourites running throughout January.

Pick of the bunch is Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus – which has all the sex, boozing and farce that any opera could require. For children, there is the enchanting Book of the Forest, by Jan Hnatowicz, and traditionalists can get their fix from performances of Vivaldi’s Traviata.
