November in Krakow's Opera House
As days are getting shorter and shorter, Krakow's Opera House brings even more entertainment. This month coming are the two specials: Rachmaninoff & Shchedrin night, and Cabaret Lunaire.
Rachmaninoff & Shchedrin night is a ballet night, composed of two parts: a search of romantic love (Rachmaninoff), and a festival of jealousy and desire (Shchedrin's "Carmen" suite. Set and costumes have been prepaired by Andrii Sukhanov, a dancer and a choreographer of Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava.
Date: Nov 16th and 17th
"Cabaret Lunaire" is a show composed of musical pieces by Arnold Schönberg. The first of them is the legendary nostalgic "Pierrot lunaire” ("The Moon Pierrot”), created in 1912 as an instrumental recitative, that requires ample of the performer's professional skills. The other, however is a handful of merry-spirited Berlin cabaret songs, 'Brettl-Lieder'. A clash of these two styles makes "Cabaret Lunaire" an unique, night-out proposal.
