Kerach 9 Concert

Kerach Tesha (Ice Nine) was an Israeli pop/rock band active between 1993–2000 and was one of the most acclaimed bands of its time. Its popularity resulted from new British sounds (influences of Britpop), making it a pioneering band that introduced this aesthetic to the Israeli music scene. Because of this, it gained acclaim from many radio stations and listeners.

After it disbanded, the members of Kerach Tesha continued their careers individually. The vocalist, Noam Rotem, recorded a few albums and became one of the most acclaimed Israeli artists. In 2009, Rotem recorded a cover of Jacek Kaczmarski’s Nasza klasa. The band members have also included other Polish accents in their work. In 2005, three of the band’s members recorded a special album titled Abramek which was a compilation of songs based on the poems of Abramek Koplowicz, a child from the Łódź ghetto who was murdered in Auschwitz. Abramek’s diary, which included poems in Polish, was found after the war.

The band reunited in 2013 and recorded two new songs that were instant hits in Israel. The Kerach Tesha concert will include songs from both of the band’s albums as well as pieces of the album Abramek and the works of vocalist Noam Rotem.
