Galeria ASP invites you to the exhibition „Illustration above”, displaying works of young illustrators associated with Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Among artists who graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow every year, illustrators are a remarkably well represented group. Many of them have already received acclaim for their work, both in Poland and abroad. The exhibition „Illustration above” shows silhouettes of 22 artists representing different genres, and using different techniques.

Good illustration is capable of shaping one’s imagination and aesthetic preferences once and for all. That’s why it’s so painful to look at e.g. contemporary-3D-variation on „Smurfs”, showing little resemblance of friendly creatures drawn by Peyo decades ago. The artists invited to exhibit their works at Galeria ASP don’t just value exquisite illustration, but also create one. Come and see it for yourself between 17 July and 6 September!
