In March 2018, Krakow Street Band - as the winner of Polish qualifications, represented our country at the European Blues Challenge 2018 in Norway. And this is not the end of the awards! Individual musicians were also appreciated - Łukasz Wiśniewski was recognized as "Vocalist of the Year 2017" , and Tomek Kruk received the title of "Guitarist of the Year 2017" according to the readers of the magazine "Your Blues". It is hardly surprising - the music of Krakow Street Band captivates with its freedom and positive energy. When in 2014 they collected for their debut album through a crowdfunding campaign, they won 170% of the planned budget in a month. They made it to the finals of Must Be The Music, earning excellent jury reviews at every turn. They proudly represented Poland the largest foreign festivals - including Haizetara (Spain), Sziget (Hungary), Ferrara Buskers Festival (Italy). In the annual survey of the magazine "Your Blues" Krakow Street Band received the titles "Discovery of the Year 2014" and "Team of the Year 2015" respectively . In 2015, they released their second, unique album - an album dedicated to the memory of Jerzy Wójcik, the first Polish artist performing bluegrass music. Compositions from his band's repertoire, Little Ole Opry, were recorded together with Krystyna Święcicka-Wójcik and invited guests from the Krakow music world.
"Going Away" is the third album in the achievements of Krakow Street Band, based entirely on the author's material. It consists of 11 lively, unpretentious songs, neatly balancing between modern folk, jazz and blues. The beautifully sounding studio rooms of Radio Krakow have captured the nuances in the music of a 9-person composition, which since the beginnings of the street has gained blush and content.
