Located in the heart of the Old Town, Wawel-Tourist offers comfortable value-for-money accommodation. It's ideally located, just a couple of minutes' walk from the Main Market Square (Rynek), and not far from Wawel Castle. It is also right in amongst a plethora of cafes, pubs and restaurants. The building dates from the 16th Century. Renovated in 1995, it now offers comfortable rooms fully furnished with up-to-date facilities. Decorated in Art Nouveau style, Wawel-Tourist also has a restaurant serving traditional European cuisine and specializing in Polish and Hungarian dishes. The cozy drink bar is also worth a visit.

great place to stay for few nights, really clean and friendly hotel, with lovely patio garden. nice food and briliant location. i'd definately come back, or recommend this place to anyone who likes a bit of luxury stay for small price.
only thing that the rooma didn't have coffee and tee facilities, which would have been an additional bonus.
I was a guest at the Wavel the first week of September, 2007. It is situated in the heart of all. Both hotel and restaurant immaculately clean. Cozy, intimate atmosphere. Excellent, friendly, helpful staff. When I commented on how much I enjoyed the music played in the restaurant, my waitress had a copy made of the CD and presented it to me as a gift! I look forward to my return.
Just spent a 3 night break at the Warwel and would definitely use it again. The hotel was in a great location just a little way from the main square in the town centre. The staff were efficient and the rooms clean and very well presented. Lots of choice at breakfast, although I just wish they'd relocate the coffee/cereal bar as its right by the entrance to the dining area which creates a bottleneck. There's a lovely secluded courtyard in the middle - pity October is not a good time for enjoying an al fresco drink! Highly recommended.
Stayed for three nights. Found the room to be of a good size, well maintained, clean and comfortable. All public areas were nicely decorated. Staff friendly and efficient. Hotel is in a particularly good position for both the old town and the castle.Number of good restaurants and bars in the vicinity but a quiet location. Whilst breakfast was varied and enjoyable, they seemed slightly short of space in the room where it was served.
Highly recommend this hotel. It may be rated three star but worth five. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable while the staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant served a good variety of dishes but I recommend the Polish meals polished off with a cranberry vodka.
I spent 4 days at this hotel in Lovely Krakow in January 2007.
Locality- as everyoe has said it is ideally located half way between Wawel Hill & the old square, making it an ideal base for exploring. It's about a 10 minute walk to Wawel & a 10 minute walk to the far side of the old square. also in the vicinity are many restaurants, An Alcohole, A supermarket & some gift shops.
Rooms- beautiful, if a little plain, but very warm & very comfortable. Fantastic shower!
Facilities- reception, polite & helpful, Spa (which I didn't test out, but it was reasopnably priced & looked nice) Restaurant- excellent. Cannot recomend the goose pie highly enough.
The one down side to this fantastic hotel would be the breakfasts were a little disappointing. Everyday, FRankfurters, Eggs, Tomatoe, ham, cucumber etc. It would have been nice to have a variation. However the breakfast was plentiful & again service was polite & helpful.
We spent a lovely period across the end of 2006 and start 2007. No better way to begin a New Year. Very kind staff, room confortable and trips very well organized! We loved it !
For sure we'll come back.
Higly raccomended.
I stayed at this hotel in oct/nov 06, staff wonderful, food really good, my third stay at this hotel and just love the locality so central. Krakow is such a beautiful vibrant city
We stayed there in Aug and loved it. Lovely hotel with very suportive staff--always helpful when we needed it. The hotel is a short walk to everywhere and we enjoyed our stay. The restaraunt at the hotel was among the best we ate at in Europe and reasonably priced-- the service was very good. A wonderful place to stay and a lovely city.
Really friendly staff. Rooms are nice and well maintained. Great location in the old town but on a quiet side road. Everything easy walking distance. Staff can organise trips which were a cheaper rate than seen on the internet, plus the trips were in small groups with an excellent guide. We stayed six days and the only thing we missed was on the last day as it was raining was somewhere just to sit and play cards... we went in the restaurant.. no problem and would normally have gone into the charming courtyard but it was wet. Great value for money.
Great location, nice rooms, fantastic helpful staff, good resturant, beautiful city. Go there!
We stayed at the Wawel Tourist for a weekend break in Krakow. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. they also speak good English if you can't quite grasp your Polish! Excellent all round, will go again.
extremely helpful staff, small rooms but may be typical for area. Very convenient to mucho shopping..great old atmosphere, step into street, you feel like you are in 11th century..good restaurant and clubbing area. Thank you Katarina (sp?)
I have stayed at Wawel-Tourist for the last 6 trips and will continue to visit. It is ideally located, the rooms are comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly. If you want to return to the hotel and relax for a few hours in the afternoon, you may hear some classical music and horse carriages in the street like in chopin times
I spent a week at Wawel-Tourist in September. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable without being extravagantly luxurious, and everything was kept spotlessly clean. The location is unbelievable! Only a couple of minutes' walk from Rynek and some fascinating buildings in close proximity, including the lovely little Church of the Bernadine Nuns on the corner. Great restaurants and pubs right in the same street, yet my room was very quiet.
