Editor's review
Your first choice for an upmarket business or leisure trip in Krakow, the BEST WESTERN Krakow Old Town is an elegant building overlooking the city's Planty gardens.
All that is best of Krakow is just a short walk from the hotel, including the old town square, Wawel castle, the Wisla river, and historic and vibrant Kazimierz. As it is right in the centre, there are many restaurants, cafes and bars nearby, which welcome guests year round - or try the Monopol Restaurant located in the Hotel and experience great service and cuisine.
Friday nights are evening dance party nights, so you really can add a touch of glamour to your stay by donning and ball gown or black tie and dancing the night away.
With secure parking and a full range of modern hotel services, the Monopol is everything one would expect from accommodation towards the higher end of the market.
Wheelchair access available.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here in November and it was great. Fantastic hotel, breakfast, price and was in the perfect location for everything. We found everything to be 20minutes walk from the hotel, apart from the main old town square which was not even 5minutes away! We will most definitely recommend this hotel and will most definitely be back to stay there!

Stayed here 3 times! Plan on going back. Modern, clean, nice food, brilliant location. Could not ask for anything better!!
Stay here if you visit Krakow! 10/10
Myself and two friends stayed in the Hotel Monopol in October. We had a triple room which was more than adequate. The beds were comfortable and very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and chatty. Breakfast was extremely varied and more like a brunch than breakfast with a massive array of salads, fruit, cold meats and cheeses, cereals, juices, bread. The location could not have been better. Directly next door to the hotel is a good sized supermarket, a restaurant and cigarette/newspaper kiosk. There are a few restaurants in the street itself. Less than 5 minutes across from the hotel you find yourself in the main street leading to the Market Square which is absolutely beautiful. Less than 5 minutes West is the magnificent castle and slightly further on is the start of the Jewish quarter/Ghetto. Walk behind the hotel and this will also lead you to the Ghetto which is hiving with great shops, restaurants and bars. The language was very very tricky but everyone was more than pleased to help us out with our pronunciation and seemed pleased that we at least attempted some words. We took a tour to the Salt mines by public bus which was surprisingly easy to navigate and it was a fabulous experience and highly recommended. We also booked a tour to Auschwitz through the tourist agency which is at the edge of the market square. this was a lot cheaper than the tours from the hotel and we were picked up by the minibus at our hotel and left back there again. The weather was surprisingly warm for the end of October - about 16 - 18C. All in all we had a fantastic time and if you want great service, friendly staff, good food and a fantastic location at a really reasonable price then you could not fault the Monopol. I would highly recommend it, a definite bargain.
Stayed at Monopol in a triple room some months ago.Delighted with everything-room,staff, location, breakfast, info available and excellent price. Will be back
