Editor's review
Hostels can often be out in the sticks but at Nathan's you've hit the bullseye. You really couldn't ask for a better location, short of being shacked up in Wawel Castle itself (which is, in fact, just around the corner). Here you're a stone's throw from the heart of Kazimierz and a short stroll from the Old Town Square. And unlike many hostels the smiling welcomes will not turn to unbending recriminations if you're half an hour late in handing back your key. For in this philanthropic establishment there's no check-out time and no curfew if you're out late enjoying the bright lights of Cracow. And if you're really flat out on arriving in the city you can always pop next door to Chlopskie Jadlo for a hearty bowl of zurek.

I'd give it 5 out of 5, if it weren't for the bed bugs. My sister had bites all over her arms and now I have to call an exterminator - they came home with me. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere but the bugs ruined it for me.
it seems that nathan's is resting on its laurels far too much: rooms are quite dirty and they have a big problem with bed-bugs which they don't really handle. At least 4 rooms are filled with creeping beasts and we also detected some of them in the bathroom!
As one mentioned before: breakfast definitely is stale (Lidl bread, tasting like paper, cheap jam and coffee/tea with milk powder)and when it comes to light they exaggerate with saving it: lamps in some rooms are horrible, makes it impossible to read anything.
Only good thing:location.
I simply don't recommend this hostel.
Very poor.
Absolute Brilliant. Stayed over the weekend of the 22/25 November 2007 and have not stayed in another hostel like it. Met some top people here.
Great Location in Krakow, Cheap Prices and the place was clean, loved my stay. I booked my beds online before I travelled
Have stayed there twice, both times were excellent, best Hostel have been in. New Years Eve party 2006 was savage craic, and perfect location and friendly staff and one of the best bars in Krakow too!
This is, simply, the best hostel I have ever known. Extremely helpful staff - 24 hour coffee pot - free internet, very friendly atmosphere - excellent beer in the cellar. Very comfortable beds - couldn't ask for anything better!
I will certainly stay here every time I visit Krakow - and I plan that to be frequently.
The ancient and crazy Englishman!
Back in Belgium, still hurt....
Anywhay I would like to thank the whole of the staff for taking care of us crazy belgian people! (especially Kinga, thanks a lot!!)
We'll tell all of our friends of your nice hostile. (If you still like Belgians to stay....))
To make the story complete... We missed our plane (wrong information on the internet) so we had to find a new flight. It costed us 200 euros a person, we arrived 12 ours to late. But we also saw a bit of Warshaw. Krakow was better.
See you!!
