Hotel Royal is located in a flamboyant fin-de-siecle building at the foot of the Royal Castle. It offers two options, one two star, the other one star, the latter being aimed more at group bookings. An old-fashioned style dominates, with some art nouveau flourishes here and there. You're very well positioned for exploring the city, being plum in the middle of town, with Kazimierz, the Old Jewish district to the south, and the Old Town to the north.

Stay in Hotel Royal it will make you feel like kings and queens neighbour (literally)find out why! plus it's 3 minutes walk from main square the heart of Cracow.
It's quite cheap too.
where do i start?. i stayed in the royal before and had great weekends here. however i booked 3 rooms in october 09 with friends. when we arrived we were told only 1 room was booked and to call back later. the receptionest could have been nicer with his answers. we ended up in the 1 star acc at the back of hotel. the bathrooms were filthy and loads of students running around at night. i come to krakow lots because i love the city and its people but next time i'll give the royal a miss.
Stayed there 3 nights Jan 2009.Food fantastic, staff wonderfull.Great location. Will certainly recomend it to anyone...
I stayed in the hotel with as part of a group of 23 colleagues.. its old world charm, wonderfully spacious rooms, great location, and extremely friendly staff made this a wonderful stay... all of us agreed on what a fun hotel this was. .
we stayed at the holten royal for three nights, it has a welcoming atmosphere and lovely reception.
the rooms vary in size from massive with living areas to moderately small, but even if you get the small room, its still a decent size room.
its perfectly situated in krakow, 5 minutes walking distance from the city center and the hotel itself is within a park; its beautiful.
overall it was a lovely stay, i'd go back.
Just returned from 2 nights at the Royal. Very clean and comfortable. With breakfast thrown in it was good value for money. Probably deserves to be 3 star. Only criticism is that the corridor from Reception to Restaurant is awful and in urgent need of change.
i stayed for 4 days in the hotel royal and i found it a peasent hotel to stay in.
I satyed there with my learning centre and i found the rooms clean and habbitable and teh staff were polite and really friendly. The rooms were easily accesible.
I am now thinking of returning to the hotel with my nana and friends.
the food was amazing and i would recommend this hotel to anybody staying in krakow
Very surprised to find this hotel was only a 2 star. On first entering you are immediately surrounded by the grand 18th style century decor, as for the room, all it needed was a kitchen and you had your own flat, spacious is not the word. The staff are friendly and helpful but not intimidating, as for the food, well lets say you wont go hungry. Ideal situation for castle and market square. If I had to pick a fault, it would be the close proximity to the trams outside. For everything this hotel has to offer though, the trams are something well worth putting up with. Definately staying in the Royal again when I return.
I stayed at this hotel with a large group. Any person in floors 1 to 3 had very nice rooms but the 4th floor hosted my room which reminded me of a storage closet. It had poor conditions and it took over 15 minutes to get semi-warm water in the showers
I spent time there last year, and I had no idea that it was a two star hotel! I loved it, and I will probably stay at Royal again. No complaints at all, for me, Royal is perfect. Helpfull staff, 5 min walk to square yet it is pretty "private". 5/5, and no doubt about it.
Visited Kracow for first time and stayed at Royal Hotel 2 Star, Stayed four nights from sixth to tenth february, Hotel excellent decor and room very good.Compares with some of the more expensive Hotels, Hot Buffet breakfast plenty. Hotel is a stones through away from centre but not in it. Excellent will visit again very soon.
p.s we met in krakow one year ago so we went to celebrate both our birthdays 21st & 23rd jan and our 1st anniversary (25th) and got engaged in the bull bar sat at the same table wearing the same outfit as last year! lovly city will probably celebrate all our anniversaries there and who knows maybe we'll marry there!very special place for us.
lovely big room, very clean, friendly staff excellent food!make sure you tell them its your birthday as all the waiters walk in with a cake and sing happy birthday to you and get the accordian player & violinist to serenade you, embarrassing but lovely thought!would stay there again, 5 min walk to square
stayed in the royal on 9/12/07 to 12/12/07.i went with a group of 17 we had a excellent time. the hotel was very clean and a great central point. based at the foot of the castle and only 10 mins walk from the christmas markets.we went to auschwitz which is amazing you must visit. so of my friends went to the salt mines and said it was beautiful.a great place to stay i will visit again.
Stayed in the Royal from 26/11/07 to 28/11/07. 1st floor room overlooking SW Gertrudy. It was the warmest and most comfortable bed we have ever had on a holiday, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast, served from 6.30 to 11, was superb. We arrived late evening at 22.15 and were welcomed into the restaurant with a full menu ( not something you get in this country)and the food was great, so much so that we decided to get the remainder of our meals in the restaurant and bar, with huge flagons of beer and a live three piece ( guitar, cello and piano accordian) playing traditional music. In my view this hotel is perfectly placed so as to be able to walk with ease to all the main areas, or No's 1, 3 ,6 and more, trams stop outside on a loop. Our suitcases and shoping were securely looked after, having checked out of our rooms, at no extra charge, and a taxi arranged, at a much better price than the one i chose when we arrived, to take us to the airport. I could go on! . It was great.
just got back 5-8-07...brill hotel, staff+food+room no probs at all.we will be back..sooner the better..very close to everything.*****
The location is fantastic, very quiet even though you're in the centre. Great links to everywhere you want to visit. The food was really good, a pleasant mix of different styles and tastes to suit everyone. Staff were also really helpful and friendly. Great- would definately recommend to those who are staying on a reasonable budget.
07/03/07 FANTASTIC right in the heart of the old town. Super staff, nipping clean, and loads of history. Our room had three beds, there was room for three more. No Claustrophobia here, the rooms are huge. been all over eastern Europe but this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in in this price range
even staying in a one star hotel which i had never done before, i was impressed!! the room was massive, there was a decent breakfast spread, and staff were very polite. would go back. also very close to centre of Krakow and the castle.
Hotel represents great value for money situated at the edge of planty park at the south end of the old town. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff are friendly and helpfull.
My first visit to Krakow and I couldn't have chosen a better hotel. Great value for money. We booked a suite..massive bedroom that had a balcony over looking Wawel Castle, nice size sitting room, big bathroom(shower-no bath). Hotel very clean. Breakfast comes to your room(no frills!)5min walk to old town square. Go to the Buddha Bar!!!
this hotel was absolutely amazing. we stayed at a huge room with a small balcony and had an awesome time!! Go to club fusion....
Its a lovely hotel and the staff are extremely helpful, however, I arrived to discover that they only have twin beds in the 2 star part!
