Editor's review
There's something about this corner of Kazimierz that's especially beguiling. Hotel Karmel has most the of this - they've given a sweet nineteenth century townhouse a tasteful renovation. It's nothing over fancy, but Karmel is certainly one of your optimum choices in this neck of the woods. Be sure to make a reservation in advance though, as Karmel has a limited number of rooms. All of these come with satellite television and bathrooms with showers. There is also an inviting Italian restaurant downstairs.

We have just returned to the UK from a 3-day stay in Krakow and felt we had to write a review on this hotel. We stayed there from 22-25 March and were very impressed with the standard of accommodation, cleanliness and superb value for money, but more than anything the friendly, welcomiing and accommodating reception staff - nothing was too much trouble for them, you only had to ask and it was done. We would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who is coming for a short stay to Krakow. The standard doubles are a little on the small side but perfectly formed with excellent ensuite facilities (the shower was powerful and the water always hot). There is also an Italian restaurant at ground level and also in the cellar - the food was superb, in fact the best we had in Krakow (and we did try a few other restaurants).
